KnightByrd VERISSubstantiation requests do not come with notice.
Your substantiation file, assembled and dated before anyone asks for it.
WHY THIS EXISTS. The evidence is scattered across drives, decks, and people who have left. It gets assembled under time pressure or not at all.
WHO IT IS FOR. Legal and compliance at companies with published performance claims.
WHAT YOU GET. Full evidence provenance per claim: source, date, methodology reference, gaps flagged, exportable.
• Each claim with its source, the date that source was produced, and what it can carry.
• The thin spots named while there is still time to fix them.
• Exportable and dated at fetch, so it is reproducible later.
HOW IT WORKS. You send the pages. VERIS reads them, records each claim verbatim, checks whether the evidence published beside it can carry what the claim asserts, and dates the whole file to the moment it was read. Delivery is scan + full provenance assembly, delivered as a dated export.
THE OBJECTION YOU ARE ALREADY THINKING. "We would assemble this if we were ever asked." — That is the usual plan. It runs into the fact that substantiation is judged as of the date the claim was made, and reconstructing what you knew two years ago is the hard part. This dates the file now.
THE PROOF. 16 companies read on 2026-08-19: 368 claims inventoried, 133 would face a substantiation question, and 2 came back with nothing high. A tool that flags nothing is broken; a tool that flags everything is worthless.
WE WENT FIRST. We ran it on knightbyrd.com before running it on anyone else and published the 2 findings it returned against us.
WHAT IT WILL NOT DO. It does not determine whether a claim is adequate. It does not give legal advice or reach a legal conclusion. It does not write a claim you did not publish. It does not treat an unknown as a zero.
